I'm Hit By A Massive Tidle Wave Dream

I think this tidal wave is worldwide, its like I'm just standing in the middle of no where waiting for it to hit, like an open semi desert area but without the sand. All the while there's a voice constantly talking to me, it's being very nice & reassuring.

All a sudden I can feel something coming, I turn around a little & a massive tidal wave rushes towards me. I feel myself get picked up by the wave, within 40-50 seconds I'm dead.

In the 40-50 seconds I felt myself getting swept along by the wave, feeling my body getting lighter and lighter and I felt totally helpless, I was also worried about the debris I would hit.

Then I woke up.

  1. This is an interesting dream on many levels. I often associate water with emotion but everybody is different.

    Could a tidal wave represent an overwhelming emotional experience? Also interesting that there's a voice of reassurance. Perhaps this is symbolic of overcoming great anxiety. Releasing fear in the way you become lighter and "helpless", in other words, going with the flow and working through the emotional experience.

    It could be that the "death" is ultimately symbolic of your transcending anxiety.

  2. I always had a dream on waters... And it's scared me until I get up off bed.. Is their a meaning about it? That is why I got scared on going to the beaches... i don't know why...

  3. Dreams like this one is pretty scary I guess. I even consider this one as a nightmare. But if you believe to the usual belief of people that dreams have associated meanings, maybe you can take some time to interpret this dream. I had also known that dreams which involve waters are bad luck. But I am not so sure. It's not even proven but a lot believe on this one. Well, just don't get so affected with it. Just live your life the right way and you don't have to worry about how these dreams will affect you. :)

  4. @nelson

    Thats an interesting interpretation, I had'nt thought of that. Thanks for your input.

    @martin
    I've alway's seen water as a cleansing mechanism. You might have a subconscious phobia of water, or maybe just something associated with the beach - sharks?

    @criminal attorney
    Personally I don't associate water with bad luck.

  5. I think that not all dreams have associated meaning. Also, there are many interpretations for one dream and all the same you can't be sure of any interpretation. So never mind and continue your life without any terrors.

  6. Your dream have lots of interpretations. But, basically tidal wave means, you have a a big problem, you are burden with difficulties. It could also be that one of you family is longing for you and they just wanted what your situation is. Better pray always. This is just a dream, don't take as possibility but make everything as a lesson.

  7. Never had a tidal wave dream, but plenty of being surrounded by large bodies of water.

  8. I've never had a dream like this. In fact, thinking about it, water rarely seems to feature in my dreams.

    It's funny, because I was recently thinking about a dream I had years ago - I can remember it clearly because it was the most terrifying dream I can remember.

    There wasn't much to it: I was looking out of the window in the apartment I grew up in, to see the sky filled - and I mean filled - with all kinds of "spacecraft".

    I realise that it doesn't sound particularly scary, and nothing really happened in it - but for some reason it filled me with dread...

  10. I also had the same kind of dream. This post made me remember it again. I was so horrified when I woke up. Who wouldn't be after a tidal wave falls on you? It made me feel really bad the whole day because I thought it really had a meaning on my life because it felt so real. But then as the days passed, I just forgot all about it. And fortunately nothing really disastrous happened. Until today, no one can really prove the relationship of our dreams to our waking life and I think no matter what your dream was for as long as you are always doing what is right, there is nothing that you have to worry about. :)

  11. For me, this is already a nightmare and not a dream. I never wish to have that kind of dream. It's too scary!!! But I already dreamed about surrounded by plenty of snakes.. It's also scary but then I'm very glad that I woke up immediately. Thanks for sharing your dreams and Have a great day.

    It's interesting you've had the same sort of dream. I was hoping this dream was'nt a premonition, cause very occasionally I do have them.

  13. Do you have a fear of water? It could be that coming into play or a fear of drowing under the pressure of something. Once the 'drowning' is over you feel light and relief... perhaps manifestation of the problem resolved... interesting dream.

  14. I rarely have dreams about water, but when i do it's that I'm off in the middle of an ocean and i see a big whale swimming next to me. It gets pretty scary sometimes.

  15. Maybe you do have a slight fear of water. I have a slight fear of heights, so when i do have a dream about heights, it gets pretty intense.

  16. There are different interpretation of that dream. But absolutely it defies a negative impression. Well, one good thing that you can do is always positive.

  17. I'm not the most religious man but I do believe in a higher power. Don't you ever wonder if there is a deeper meaning to your dreams? It does seem like your dreams might have hidden meanings.

  18. I had a similar dream a couple of months ago coincidentaly and I researched it and found that dreams which involve being hit by a wave or with water are about fear of failure or criticism and also about overcoming fears.

  19. Wow, never had that dream. Spooky.

  20. It's an awful one and considered to be a nightmare. It's horrible. Dreaming that one is a frightening experience for me because I usually associate my dreams to my life in this world...it's like having a bad luck.

  27. In my whole life I had a single repetitive dream, and it is similar to yours. I've heard that water symbolizes thoughts, worries, fears, and when we dream something like tidal waves means that we are living a troubled/restless period.

About Me

Melbourne, Australia
I've been writing down my dreams for about 11 years now, but they still often surprise me with something unexpected. You might find this hard to believe, but I am often given glimpses of future events through my dreams.

This freaked my wife out on a couple of occasions, and recently she also dreamed something that came true. This got her excited, and I'm sure many of you have or will see a future event in you're dreams.

Oh yeah, I'm also a musician and producer/songwriter and I have a deep interest in most things psychic, supernatural and alien, I also have interests in electronics and physics.
